January 2012

January's event, Wellie Wanging, is brought to us by Bourton Meadow School in Buckinghamshire, England!
Wellie Wang Rules:

Each child can choose their method of throw (ex: off their arm or leg) and the distance will be measured from a pinned point on the centre of the throw line. We will be adding some videos to the blog of the Bourton Meadow teachers throwing in different styles.

The wellie that is to be thrown should be a wellie (rubber rain) boot, the size that child would wear. Ideally, their own boot. This will avoid children throwing tiny boots and will be more fair and easily resourced.

Children can have 2 throws and the best throw is counted. Practices are allowed in prior PE lessons but the final throws must be the ones counted and sent as a result.

We ask that your Wellie Wang competition be completed by the last day in January.
Good luck, all! May the best Wellie Wangers win!!
